Zenergi aim to act as the ‘outsourced energy department’ for our customers; from a sales lens this is realised through keeping them informed, supporting their individual decision-making processes and presenting appropriate options that are tailored to their needs.   We have a strong record of retaining customers and growing organically, and as New Business Sales people we have a duty to ensure this process starts from our very first interaction with our future customers.  The group have a growing suite of additional products and services available to our customer base, therefore opportunities for identifying need and cross-selling underpin the organic growth potential, whilst supporting our mission to achieve Energy Freedom for our customers.   As the Internal New Business Sales, you will ultimately be responsible for achieving sales, targets, ensuring key milestones are met, and that prospective customers are engaged and informed at all times.  Critically, the sales approach must be in-keeping with the ‘Zen-Way’; built upon genuine relationships, acting with integrity and delighting customers.  You will be instrumental in identifying, developing and winning new customers within your allocated parameters.   We are looking for someone with strong sales capabilities, a strategic thinker with commercial awareness who can operate independently as a subject matter expert, yet who interacts with colleagues on all levels to translate business objectives into success.

Key Deliverables:

  • Identify, develop and close New Business opportunities, in line with set targets
  • Define a territory plan to effectively structure activity; adhere to milestones, deliverables, and critically review progress at all stages
  • Manage your pipeline in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of information and correct reporting of opportunities
  • Support the external sales team with lead generation and sales support
  • Work with the Marketing function to design and implement strategic sales campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of New Business Development and wider leadership team to ensure initiatives are cohesive with the overall customer experience
  • Support & inform the team leaders who are responsible for the day-to-day management of the team
  • Foster a culture of building long term and genuine relationships with our customers, identifying key individuals and maintaining a close network
  • Aim to delight customers and champion initiatives to further enhance the service or product offering
  • Visit customers where necessary
  • Submit a monthly pipeline report to the Head of New Business Development

General:

  • Live and breathe the ‘Zen Way’ with all stakeholders
  • Support initiatives with detailed Excel reporting; good working knowledge of the system, carry out high level data analysis regarding customer and prospect data, as well as general problem solving
  • Provide backup for colleagues and team members when required (absences, annual holiday etc.)
  • Working as part of a wider team to continuously improve processes across the whole organisation

Requirements – experience (useful but not essential):

  • Sales experience and commercial awareness
  • Ability to use data analysis to inform prospecting, territory planning and decision-making
  • Successful sales cycle management experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook, PowerBI
  • Full UK driving license and a willingness to visit regional offices, customers and other relevant travel where necessary

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: £25, 000 – £30,000 (including bonus) Negotiable based on experience
  • Location: Office based ideally Colchester (Southampton, Stourbridge, Manchester, Colchester)
  • Working hours 8.30am – 5.30pm, with flexible working hours available after the 6-month probationary period
